Meet Andrew Thompson
Follow Andrew:
I'm a Colorado native and have lived in Northglenn since 2017. I have two rockstar daughters (ages 6 and 3) and an incredible wife. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Colorado State University and a law degree from the University of Denver. I like to get my hands dirty, volunteering to pick up litter in my community and shoveling snow for the elderly persons around the neighborhood. I love the outdoors and serving my community.
I am driven to make my home a quality place for the present and the future. Not everyone sees eye-to-eye. I have experience operating in high conflict situations. I have a talent for broadening people’s perspectives to find common ground on important issues. I am an analytical and critical thinker, with an aptitude for forecasting the natural consequences of preliminary decisions. I am honored to lend my abilities to build a stronger and supportive community.

Issues
Business Development
Small businesses require the support of local government and the community. We send monies to businesses in adjacent cities because comparable local amenities are lacking. Let’s flip that. We need to develop Northglenn’s valuable resources (e.g., the Northglenn Marketplace, open spaces, etc.) to draw enthusiastic business partners capable of supporting each other, our community, and ultimately, Northglenn.
Resource Management
It is human nature to create projects and then neglect their maintenance. City services benefit from coordination and oversight. My focus would be to consolidate resources between city services and reallocate resources where necessary.
Conservation
Our community lives and dies on its sustainability of which conservation is a pillar. My focus would be to develop programs encouraging the use of renewable energies and water conservation to promote a positive conservation culture.
